Houjicha (Japanese Roasted Green Tea)

Houjicha has been roasted,"baked", imparting a brownish colour and a unique taste. Since the baking process removes much of the caffeine, this tea is often served in Japan to patients in hospitals, and to children.

This tea has a clear, light reddish-brown tint and a robust, roasted fragrance and flavour.
